Sizing & Care Guide

When choosing a Fedora hat it is important that you measure your head first.

If you are in between sizes, it is best that you size up and make use of the adjustable velcro inside the brim to ensure comfort. If you have any sizing questions please drop us a note at info@aliceivycottonco.com and one of our team will be happy to assist you .

Here are some basic instructions on how to measure your head to ensure a comfortable fit. There are two ways people usually wear their hat.

Classic style

This is when you wear the hat straight on your head with the Brim sitting just above your eyebrows.

Measuring: Take a tape measure and wrap it around the back of your head ensuring it is only slightly above your ears, and quite level. Pull the tape measure around the front to your forehead. The tape measure shouldn't be too tight or loose, just comfortable- this is your optimal measurement for you.

Halo Style

This style is becoming increasingly more popular as it tends to frame the hair better around your face, but it is not typically the style you would adopt if you are venturing outdoors.

Measuring: Take a tape measure and wrap it around the lower part of your crown, whilst still wrapping it to the front of your forehead to measure. You should see that the tape is lower at the back then the front. The tape measure shouldn't be too tight or loose, just comfortable- this is your optimal measurement.

Please ensure you measure carefully, as exchanges can be difficult on such a product to avoid damage to the hat.

Caring for your Fedora

When you recieve your hat it will feel quite firm and at first may be a little uncomfortable. The hat will soften with use, but if you need to expedite the process , this can be done with the careful use of steam.

Please only spot clean your Fedora, and store is a safe place away from direct sunlight as to protect it. If you experience a bend in your Brim, this can be removed again, with the use of steam.

Your hat really is quite tough, if you look after it, you can enjoy it for years to come.
